The yearly Nike Rugby Camp took place in Corvallis between Sunday August 4th and Wednesday August 8th. On early Sunday afternoon, the kids registered and found out who their room-mates would be. They were staying in the College Dorms with one wing being for the Boys and another wing being for the girls.
On check-in all the kids received a Nike Rugby t-shirt, and they were all eager the wear them for the first day.
For many of these kids it was their first time being away from home without their parents, but they were all very excited getting to see their friends and team-mates again. Spotted on the campus were some Hornets, Patriots, Rebels and Lions…..
There were 56 kids registered for the camp, with 13 coming from Chinook Rugby Club – an amazing representation.
Most of the camp was filled with games and drills, but the kids got to scrimmage in front of parents on the final day.
All of the kids we spoke to seemed to love this wonderful experience they had been given and want to go back again next year!
