Fall Rugby started in a big way yesterday with many teams from the Portland Metro (and some slightly farther away) congregating at Glenhaven Park in Portland.
Firstly, Chinook Rugby had a large contingent of girls playing with Girls Rugby. This is an organization devoted to introducing rugby to younger girls in a fun and less competitive manner. There were a lot of smiles and laughter yesterday as the girls got to play against other girls (instead of the normal spring co-ed format) in a much more relaxed setting.
Next up, the Rebels (7th/8th Grade Boys) were playing in the Fall Sevens series, managing to win both matches emphatically.
The Highlanders (Girls High School) also playing Sevens, played in the afternoon and won all three of their games, with impressive shut-outs!
